A Unified Architecture and Navigation Model

Blink and NASA have worked together to develop a new global Information Architecture. The architecture was designed using data, feedback and user evidence.

A single well-organized navigation system based on user needs is critical to redesign success. The site should be organized by topics in a model that makes sense to NASA’s broad audience. Content should not be structured by NASA Organization structure.

Content should not be split between Science and “other”. Data tells us that NASA users think of everything NASA does as “science”.

SEO, which is critical to reaching your audience, is also highly dependent on the Information Architecture system.

User feedback on the navigation system

The new navigation system makes it very easy for users to navigate the site and promotes the discovery of new content through both context and the use of “feature areas”.
